Your information
Privacy policy
Slipstream uses information to help riders and drivers meet, coordinate and share a journey. Here is how that information is handled.

Information we handle
This policy covers the Slipstream Rides app, also called Slipstream, and this privacy and support website. Slipstream Rides is operated by Jeffery Powell. The service is for riders and drivers aged 18 or older. Depending on how you use it, information includes:
Account & profile
Your name, email, account identifiers, profile photo and biography. Regular sign-in uses an email link. App Review sign-in also sends the assigned reviewer password directly to Firebase for authentication; Slipstream does not retain that password. Drivers can add vehicle make, model, colour, licence plate, seat count and a vehicle photo. We record your confirmation that you are 18 or older, the terms version you accept and the time of acceptance. This confirmation does not ask for a date of birth or identity document.
Location & journeys
Precise location, destination searches, routes, pickup and drop-off points, ride requests and trip status/history. Driver location can update in the background while offering a ride, with the relevant device permission.
Messages & support
Messages between matched riders and drivers, message timestamps, feedback and any screenshots or details you send when requesting help. Safety reports include the reported ride or person, reason and details; blocking records identify the accounts that must not be matched or messaged.
Technical information & alerts
App/platform information and service request, performance and diagnostic data. If you enable ride alerts, we associate a device notification token with your account to send updates. Hosting, authentication, notification and mapping providers also process technical information needed to deliver their services.
How information is used
- Run your account: sign you in, maintain your session, show your profile and record participation terms.
- Coordinate rides: find route overlap, identify pickup points, confirm arrival and boarding, update trip progress and deliver the alerts you enable.
- Help participants recognize each other: show relevant profile and vehicle information for a match.
- Handle safety and support: deliver messages, review reports, apply blocks, filter prohibited content and investigate errors or abuse.
- Keep the service working: troubleshoot requests and understand service performance.
This release does not collect payment details or process fares or driver payouts. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.
Storage & retention
Account, profile, trip and message records are kept while the account is in use. Uploaded files, live ride state, service logs and backups are held separately. Our providers may process information outside your province or country, including in the United States.
- Account deletion: in the app, open Profile → Account & safety → Delete account. Finish or cancel an active ride first. You may be asked to sign in again. Once your request is accepted, account access ends and deletion continues in the background. It removes the sign-in identity, profile and vehicle details, uploaded photos, in-app feedback, notification registration and messages you sent.
- Shared ride records: completed ride records and the other participant’s messages remain for that participant’s history and service integrity. Your name and contact/profile details are removed and the account is labelled “Deleted account.” Ride times, route details and an internal account reference may remain; these records are not a promise of complete anonymity.
- Safety reports: reports and safety-action records are retained for up to 90 days after they are created. Deletion removes direct account links from these records; the report text may still contain details supplied by a participant.
- Application backups: our application backup retention target is 30 days, with cloud expiry scheduled at 29 days. Expired temporary backups on an offline device are removed when that device next wakes or signs in. A deleted record can remain in a backup until that copy is removed. Restoring an application backup requires reapplying completed account-deletion requests. This schedule does not control authentication-provider retention.
- Firebase Authentication: Firebase keeps logged IP addresses for a few weeks. After we request deletion of the associated Firebase user, Firebase removes other authentication information from its live and backup systems within 180 days, according to its published retention policy.
- Logs and support correspondence: operational logs and email correspondence are separate from your in-app profile and may remain while needed to resolve the issue, investigate abuse or meet a legal requirement. Ask us about a specific record.
A provider outage can delay deletion; the service retries incomplete work. We may preserve particular information where required by law and restrict its use to that purpose. Providers may retain their own security or operational records under their policies. Signing out or uninstalling Slipstream does not delete your account.
The account deletion page explains the process and the email option if you cannot use the app.
Your choices
- Device permissions: manage location, camera, photo and notification access in iPhone Settings. Restricting permissions can prevent the related feature from working.
- Profile details: edit the information made available in the app’s Profile screen.
- Report or block: open Safety from a matched ride’s chat. Blocking stops messages and future matches with that person; it does not cancel an ongoing ride. Manage blocks in Profile → Account & safety.
- Account information: use the in-app deletion control or email us to request access, correction or deletion. We may need to verify account ownership.
- Sign-out: signing out ends the session and removes its ride-alert registration. It is not account deletion.

This website contains static information and email links. It has no account sign-in, submission form, advertising scripts or analytics scripts. Clicking an email link opens your email app; the website does not send a request for you.
Google’s hosting infrastructure handles ordinary web request information, such as IP addresses and browser/network details, to deliver the site. External links open services covered by their own privacy policies.
